Taken at the Maryland Renaissance Festival. I’m fairly certain this is a Marbled Orbweaver Spider.
Seven Deadly Sins
I’m not one to take many online surveys but this one confirms what I already believed about myself. As hard as I try to be the best person I can possibly be – using the seven deadly sins as the antithesis of how not to live my life – I could’ve guessed these survey results ahead of time. I’m not proud of the overall results, but I’ll share them anyway.
Anyone who stumbles upon this, I urge you to take the survey to see where you stand, and take a serious look at how you live your life and what you can do to improve it.

Third Degree
I got my third degree black belt this past Monday. This was my first rank promotion in 12 years, so it’s been a while. Monday just happened to be one of the hottest days of the year, and the gym wasn’t air conditioned. Only four of us were testing – myself, two who got their black belts, and one who got his yellow belt. As I type this, the knuckles on my right hand are bruised, but it’s not that bad. I think it happened on the speed break punch during my three-stationed break.
