Shaare Tefila nursery school, 1981. I’m in the red shirt in the back row. I’m standing next to a girl (pink dress) who was born on the same day, in the same hospital as I was. We also went to middle school and high school together. Sheri Goff is in the pink shirt standing two over from my right. 25 Years Later
On May 8, 1991, my neighbors, Joseph (12) and John (11) Augustine died in a car accident on the corner of Route. 29 and Crestmoor Drive.
I didn’t find out until I got home from school when I got a phone call from a local reporter who asked me for a comment. It was the first I had heard of it and needless to say, I was upset. (Years later, I learned of another death from a reporter who called me.)
Today, it’s been 25 years since it happened. Their parents still live in the house next to the one I grew up in, where my father still lives.
