On Wednesday I met Willie O’Ree, the first black player to play in the NHL, at the Embassy of Canada as he was being honored by the Congressional Hockey Caucus.

Caps Bobbleheads!
After the Caps won the Stanley Cup, Forever Collectibles began producing championship bobbleheads, all of which were relatively generic versions of the players holding the Cup. Rest in peace to Mean Gene Okerlund. I usually write these obits in advance and finished this one a few weeks ago, having no idea he was about to pass away. He was an amazing person and I’m honored that I got to write about him.
